THE EFFECTS AND SITUATION IN TAMIL NADU:

When the Marina Beach because Night ware:

Usually in marina beach people will come for exercise from 4.00 AM onwards. Early in the morning walkers and children playing cricket on the beach were washed away by the tsunami waves. Men and material even as those lucky to escape watched helplessly in horror.

Tsunami may have lasted just a few minutes but the impact was much longer, characters by the destruction it left behind. An empty shamina with “MERRY CHRISTMAS” pinned on it fluttered in the wind at the santhome Basilica church, while on the Marina beach broken frames of fishing boats and destroyed houses was all that remained Tsunami lifted all the places of northern chennai east coast line places. Every turn we take the same story.

Death at the Doorstep:

But it was far worse for the fishing hamlets of Ayodhyakuppam & pattinappakkam, These are the two fishermen towns in the city . The wall of seawater that hit the coast around 8 am brought instant death to many residents of hamlets.

When the water swell came in several of the fisher folk died in their sleep. Some of the childrens playing in the beach front were also swept away.

All perished in the massive tide that swept away chunks of land, houses and huts along with belongings as also vehicles parked on the beach.

Sands Save boats:

On the shore, the scenes even more tragic, the devastation even more complete. Marina suddenly turned a parking lot for colourful boats. Where is the boat riders?

No words on fishes men who driver in to sea before 4.00 AM in the morning. Their relatives waiting for their news. They all are missing, no one knows what happened to them and Hundreds of fishing boats washed away.

Who could thought a single night could change the face of the world. Nagapattinam is worst effected district in TamilNadu. After the huge earthquake in the depth of the sea, tsunami was submerging the entire area, people and furniture swept out into the sea.

They have not stop counting bodies and the Sea left uncounted childrens as ORPHANS. Here 770 Childrens were died by killer waves. Now the people were seeking shelter in local temple, wedding halls and community halls. 2 thousand peoples are homeless. Even they wondered why the GOD so cruel to them. And We can see the people who lost the loved ones and homelessly. Officials said that 2300 peoples were dead in Nagapattinam.

6 months old baby sugami was born like blind, her mother saved Rs. 6000 for her treatment on eye operation but it washed away by killer Tsunami into the sea. She waver see her birthday.

In velankanni, the houses and shops was washed out, the sea water entered into the church also, bodies were lying in the roads, most of the tourists were missing who came for church on Christmas.

Relatives from Kerala, Karnataka & Goa had started pouring in here and were reporting about the missing family members.

Hundred of bodies are still under sand in the Coastal areas.  Many bodies were removed immediately and sent for mass burial which were brought to the Nagapattinam Hospital. All bodies handed over to the relatives without post-mortem.  Most of the bodies could not be identified.

Before realised what had happened, many found watery grave.  Even seasoned fisherman could not swim against the ferocious waves, while women and children fell helpless victim to the fury of the sea.

Normal life was thrown out of gear and tension prevailed in the coastal villages. Also hundreds of fishing boats washed away.

The Atomic Energy regulatory Board members said, that the plant will not be functioned. It will be in “shut down mode” for safety precautions. A total of 61 deaths have been reported from the township and villages surrounding the plant of the total Causalities, 31 are from the plant he said adding that most of the deaths occured as people had assembled in Churches close to the sea front on Sunday morning.

The toll may took sharp rise in Andaman & Nicobar Islands

Devastated Island:

Many of them were just come for walk to start Sunday morning On Seaside, Suddenly they saw that the sea resteering towards them & they run to escape, they climbed up to the buildings, they thought it will be safe but the waves so high as 15 meters height then it engulfed all and all the buildings started caving. Nothing is there, the water washed away everything.

In Gujarat’s earthquake, Among the people, Airforce officers offected first in pojewell debestrated. Its surprising flash back here in Car Nicobar. Airforce officers quaters destroyed fully out of 25 members, duly 5 of them left. They were 4 families lined. Waves are taller than the houses, the water drages them and many of them lost their life. Car Nicobar chapter is no more. To overtake this it will take month not year.

Andaman & Nicobar Island said that more than 3000 people have been killed, The causalities may go up as the worst because 5000 peoples were missing.

The Biggest worry is Epidemic:

Scale of disaster is very high & the possibilities of disease is huge. So the medical centers it has sufficient antibiotics & they are doing all precautions in effected areas.

Although rains hindered relief work in Nagapattinam, the state government are launched massive relief operations engaging defence forces and aircraft and ships to reach food, blankets, medicines & other material to people in the effected areas. Even though there is many people short of food and drinking water. And many political leaders went to the effected areas and the launching some help to the peoples. And also Aircrafts have been pressed into service, carrying the relief materials, persons for rescue&relief operations.

The focus in there to prevent the epidemic. A new danger in cuddalore for colora and other disease. There are peoples is not allowed to travel to India because of fear of disease. And Indian government release the  visa facilities who wants to leave the country.

Today they had very quiet sunny day and relief & rescue & volunteers there to help. Medical camp is there to prevent out break of Epidemic.

Asian Nations counting the human and economic cost of the tragedy western Nations pledged aid and geologists asked why warning systems that could have saved thousands of lives were not in place.

The Indian government said that they will import the tsunami warning system from USA, so they can provide warning  about these nature disasters, and the people can also get saved. Tsunami warning system is there only in western countries. It is not there in southern Asia countries and these countries  are not member in that counsel also. So they could not send any warning to southern Asia Country.

v           Us geophysicists said that the map of Asia will not be same before. It has small change and permanently altered the regional map.
